- Apply the last round of patches
- Limit use of the vulnerable machine
- Limit internet exposure of the vulnerable machine (IE: disconnect internet when not in use, or completely if you are able)
- Do not conduct online financial transaction on the vulnerable machine (IE: Banking, Ebay, Amazon, Paypal)
- Do not visit social media sites on the vulnerable machine. Attackers can use these credentials to gain further access or steal your identity
- Any computer using XP or Office ’03 is vulnerable to hacking. Do not do anything on this machine you would not post on Facebook
